3/9/13 DIRECTOR of "GOOD, BAD,WIERD" @ BUSAN WEST FILM FEST, CHAPMAN COLLEGE

3/9/13 KIM JI-WOON, DIRECTOR of "GOOD, BAD,WIERD", @ BUSAN WEST FILM FEST, CHAPMAN COLLEGE, ORANGE, CALIFORNIA ...I watched the film...after which there was a Q&A with woon...the film itself was extremely violent...filled with shooting & blood & death..sort of a quentin tarantino style...also a mad max theme...(he mentioned mad max as well).. incredible strong music with extraordinary visuals of a chase scene that lasted longer than normal for big-screen movies...all filmed in asia..any redeeming value ? not sure... maybe one quote of a character where he muses that people all know they are going to die but pretend they aren't until they do, or are about to...; that may be the BEST QUOTE of the film...and hopefully may make people think..about the meaning of their life before they die, or are about to die.. kim jim-woon also filmed some american hollywood films...in English..one with arnold schwaarzenaager (who was at the festival the prior night for the opening,,,which i did not attend)..; the good bad wierd was all in korean with english subtitles.. the one funny character (or "wierd") kept it laughable to a certain extent.. albeit he too has no problems with killing people...none of them seem to show much concern or conscience about killing...and they are all after a hidden treasure..with a treasure map leading the way... its kind of far-fetched, but if you just want a lot of action and movement and big screen imagery it does the job... just remember to ask yourself why are you here before you die, or are about to..MY ANSWER 4u, IF YOU DO not know is u r here for GOD...find His purpose for your life...and you will have found the meaning for life (assuming you are called by God and disregarding the question, for now,  of whether only some are "elect" or not...that's a whole different issue and question..)
